Selling on Amazon is not easy. You’re most likely competing with hundreds, or most likely thousands of other similar products in your category. So, the question always comes, how do you stand out or really get visibility to your listing to scale your sales.

Let’s go through 5 optimization tips that can help you start scaling your sales on the platform for better performance.

OPTIMIZE YOUR AMAZON PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Your product description is very important. When you create your listing, you may go through this part fairly quickly to get through posting your product. The description field gives you two great benefits in the listing:

  1. Really gives you a chance to dive deep into the product with its features and benefits
  2. The longer you make it, the better SEO it has both in the Google index as well as the Amazon index.

Use this field to write as much on your product as possible as Amazon does look at text for relevancy. If you own the brand you are listing, creating Amazon A+ content is a must to scale and optimize your listing.

OPTIMIZE YOUR PRODUCT IMAGES

Consumers are much more visual than they are anything else. Yes, having the right and adequate copy is important, but your pictures will most likely tell the story from the go to see if its something the consumer is interested in purchasing. This does NOT only mean images of the product, but also images that sells the product including features, benefits, etc.

OPTIMIZE TITLES WITH KEYWORDS

Keywords play a critical role in the Amazon search. Use your title as much as possible to include ALL relevant keywords in your product. One of the smartest things Amazon has done in my opinion over all competitors in the marketplace category is allow merchants to create LONG titles. This has really allowed for better title optimization.

INCREASE YOUR AMAZON PRODUCT REVIEWS

Reviews on your products is a KEY RANKING SIGNAL on Amazons search. The reviews tell the algo how liked your products are liked by those who bought it and as you may already figured it out, Amazon is all about serving customers what they want, AND FAST (this brings us to the point below.)

There are many softwares that are used to generate product reviews. However, if you don’t use any of these, it’s worth spending time doing the manual work on the backend to get reviews on your products.

FBA IS A MUST THESE DAYS

I saved the obvious one for last. If you aren’t already using Fullfillment By Amazon, you’re missing on scaling your sales and it can happen FAST. This is a surefire way to get your listings a boost as Amazon trust its logistics more than it does anything else to get the product to the customer, quickly and easily.

If you’re strapped for inventory, you can do SELLER FULLFILLED PRIME which allows you to serve as a prime listing but I can tell you that is expensive and may not be worth the cost.
