In the year of COVID, let’s see how sites around the web are finishing the year in the traffic rankings.

Top 10 websites of 2020

I wanted to compare the stats SEMRUSH had to SimilarWeb which is also a trusted source, so, let’s see if how and if they differ.

2020 top websites by traffid

It’s interesting to see how Reddit & eBay are the ones that differ on both of these lists. If eBay is really in the top 10, that means that 2 out of the 10 most visited websites are e-commerce based, if its really Reddit, it’s just 1, of course, the dominant Amazon.

This is a great list to have and ensure that you have a 360 digital marketing angle for your business. While the rest of the sites (excluding PornHub and Wikipedia) are not e-commerce, they most definitely are the platforms that build and drive businesses.

If nothing else, in order to really grow and scale your business, make sure you position your business well in the major platforms. One mistake people make is try to be in too many places without really positioning themselves well in the players where you can scale the business.

SEARCH ENGINE MARKETING:

  • Google
  • Yahoo

SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Twitter
  • Reddit

THIRD PARTY MARKET PLACES:

  • Amazon
  • eBay

Unless you have a good 360 strategy which entails these channels, I wouldn’t put much effort anywhere else. Go where the traffic is.
