I’ll get right to the point. Depending on what stage of business development and growth you’re at, driving traffic to your website is essential. Of course, you need to drive the right traffic to your website which is the key to ensuring sales. That said, traffic in volume helps build a pipeline. It’s also very important to drive traffic from different sources to test additional channels for scale and growth. While I’m a firm believer that you need to really tackle atleast one channel to its full potential, with the current and future landscape of digital, you can’t just depend on one platform to drive traffic and sales, any one thing can happen at any time where that traffic source may be affected and you lose your traffic. DON’T LET THAT HAPPEN. I’ve been there…it isn’t fun…or smart.

Let’s list all the places you can drive traffic from, paid or organic, start looking into these channels for additional sources of traffic and see if they fit into your model. If you’re reading this article, I’ll assume you already push traffic on some of these platforms that drive the bulk of traffic for advertisers today, but for all intent and purposes, this article list all.

Google Ads: The best and #1 intent based advertising platform. You need to be advertising with Google ads, there is no negotiation on here. From bidding on your brand name to trying to find ways to bid on keywords that can give you a CAC your business can support, billions of searches means sales for your business.

Bings Ads: Who uses Bing? About a billion people a month, per SimilarWeb. So, why not? Take the same approach as you would with Google Ads. Bing actually lets you import all your Google ads into the platform so there isn’t much work to be done here. Bing ads also powers Yahoo search which also has billions of visitors, so yes, DON’T LEAVE THIS CHANNEL OUT. Did I mention that DUCKDUCKGO.com is also powered by Bing ads?

Facebook Ads: The most powerful of all social networks to advertise on. This also powers Instagram but I’m actually going to segment that channel out. Facebook ads are incredibly powerful and you have to choose two places to advertise, I’d say go with Google and Facebook. Facebook ads may be the most powerful platform when it comes to targeting based on the amount of data it holds from its user base.

Instagram Ads: Powered by Facebook ads platform, the power of Instagram ads more than feeds are the stories that are watched by billions of people monthly. Instagram ads may be the most powerful platform when it comes to targeting based on the amount of data it holds from its user base. This was worth repeating twice.

TIKTOK Ads: With about over 700 million users and counting (not quite sure on the stat here,) this has fast become an incredible ads platform for brands to target users. That makes TikTok the seventh-largest platform in terms of users, ahead of others that have been around much longer such as Snapchat, Pinterest, and Twitter.

Pinterest Ads: Per Pinterest, it has about 748 million active users. Pinterest has been crowed the largest photography shopping platform so if you’re running an e-commerce business and haven’t tried to push traffic through this ad platform, what are you waiting for?

Snapchat Ads: Snap has about 280 active users. While it didn’t live up to beating Facebook and Insta like it has wanted to, the fact is that there is plenty of users on the platform and users means eyeballs. After all, as marketers, that’s what we’re after, right?

Reddit Ads: Reddit is the platform where conversations take place online, and believe you me, if you’re selling products, there’s always a conversation about what you’re selling or the space you’re selling in. With more than 430 million monthly active users and over 100,000 active communities, it’s ranked among the most popular social networks worldwide. Reddit ads is a MUST try to see the quality of traffic you can get and the engagement as well.

Twitter Ads: Twitter is also where conversations happen and a must-try platform to see if you can get results. While it can be a bit pricey, it’s definitely a platform to test with an incredible user base.

YouTube Ads: I know this is part of the Google Ads platform but like Facebook/Instagram, this is also worth segmenting because it dictates you have video creative and not just text ads. Youtube is the second largest search engine in the world. The possibilities of advertising on Youtube are endless with its billions of monthly views.

LinkedIN Ads: While this is the world’s largest platform for professionals where business and industry news and conversation leads, there is always room to try pushing traffic to a product that you can find the right target if it exist for your product to target that demographic.

Quora Ads: Reach over 300 million people who use Quora every month to discover and buy your products. A platform worth testing based on the amount of conversations being had around your product or industry to target a specific demographic searching for your products.

SlickDeals.net: An incredible platform to push promos and offers to your website, SlickDeals.net commands 50 million plus visitors monthly to its website of users searching for deals on products online. There are many coupon websites to submit your website too, we’ll get a full list soon.
